What's that about the driveline? I already own it? In 2004, there was a big difference between a feeble 5-speed and a tank of a 6-speed. A torque deprived 2.0L cranking 227hp and a torque heavy 2.5L at 300hp. Throw in DCCD, brembos, 20mm more tire, etc, spending $6,000 extra dollars on the STi made a lot of sense.

In 2015, we have a very wide torque band all new 2.0L at 268hp that has a 6-speed (probably similar to the legacy specB. In other words decent) compared to a drivetrain that debuted on the STi back in 2004. The 2014's have swelled to an $8,500 price difference between base WRX and STi too.

I don't get it Subaru. The 2004 STi driveline is 11 years old now and the WRX is competing directly. Are you really going to make this STi through 2022 or somesuch? You think that's competitive?
