Its already been said but I have no choice be to repeat it (Thanks to the high ups at Toyota & Subaru). When I'm done with my 05 rex, I'll be switching to Mistu power. This new 08 thing (not worthy to be called a WRX looks etremely bland. It reminds me of everything I hate about family sedans (camry, accord, fusion, impala, etc). These are just boxes on wheels, and now subaru has joined in the fun or should I say the lack thereof. 02-07 wrx and sti reminds me of a linebacker or something just looking to dominate someone, but this new 08 thing reminds me of a waterboy. I don't care is it still has a boxer, its about the total package image and the power to back it up.

i'd be embarrased to show up at a rally with the 08 piece of $#!T unless my girlfriend was driving and towing my rig behind!

I fear Subaru has sold out the WRX customer base. They could have at least made it a Hybrid to somewhat explain the look. Maybe I'd feel less pain inside if the gas milage dramatically increased without any power loss...

We can only hope the new STI in geared toward our end of the market. Until them a little part of me dies every time I think of how Subaru has betrayed such a loyal family.

Hey Subaru, way to achieve greatness and completely F*CK it up!

Of course this WRX looks like a Saab, a few years back it was a Saab. The 2004-05 Saab 9-2X was just a more expensive (and ugly) WRX Wagon.

That being said, the concept is hideous. I think I'll be driving my '04 until Subaru gets their head back in the game. All prior WRX have looked great, either at first or they grew on you. And dare I say, better every year until this. That, coupled with improved reliability year after year, was starting a very nice trend for the WRX line. All I have to say is, "What the hell happened?"

Cool

I do prefer the current shape but it seems that Subaru does this continually. When does the new model get released as I am looking at a current shape now. May pay to wait a little longer.

The picture above is how the new wrx hatch. The sedan is not bad looking either if you like the looks of the 06 07 so there is not anything to worry about. You all just need to get the 08 impreza prochure at your local subaru dealership... I honesltly really like the looks of the new hatch!

1) there is no USDM 03 STi
2) the car you have pictured is an 04-05 USDM STi

unless you imported it, you have an 04-05 STi

04 STi 16G powered lagless fun
04 WRX: SOLD

mr04wrx is more helpful than not
maybe he bought it in 03, like I did, yet its an 04. I like the fact that the new 08 has a hatch STI. I like tho extra option of hatch and sedan for the STI!

Am I the only one to think that the new hatchback WRX and STi look exactly like a Mazda3 Hatchback? My wife drives a 3 hatchback and I wouldn't buy a new Subaru Hatch because it would look like we tried to buy "twinner" cars. That's lame. I do like the body line from front fender to rear quarter, but miss fender flares. Another comment, I really think it looks like a mini Tribeca. Road and Track has some sweeter looking concepts of the new STi if you get the May/June issue. They put the EVOX next to the STi and they both look good, but the EVO looks a lot more original. It remainds me of the concepts I saw for the new Skyline GT-R.
