You mean the way each of those cars represents its class or price range? You don't mean someone looking at a 911 is comparing it to a WRX (or even an M3), right? Yeah, I can kind of see that... if I squint.

If I squint hard enough, I see a Noble, a C6 and I'm starting to get a glimpse of the Audi R8....he did say sports car benchmark, right ?

I think so. On benchmarks, or what others are compared to, I think I see his point. The WRX probably is a good benchmark for the sport compact set. I know Hondas/Acuras are much more popular, but are they really benchmarks (stock) when it comes to performance benchmarking vs. the WRX or EVO series? The M3 probably is the benchmark for the sport sedan market. And the 911 has probably established itself as the benchmark for sports cars - I mean, it's been around for SO long and evolved with the times.

They say that R8 is a bad mutha
But I'm talkin' 'bout the R8!

And I gotta say, that concept of what the Subie WRC car might look like... I'm luvin' that! I like the nose treatement on the concept drawing of the new street WRX so much better than the current ones (no offense to the 06/07 owners here).

I figured I'd only keep this car for another year or so max. I figured I'd go for an Audi or the new turbo BMW. But it looks like Subie is going to provide just as good, if not a better car, for less money. Just when you think you're out... they pull ya back in!

I dig the hatch, after all subaru has been lacking for a while in WRC and I think its cus the competition is driving smaller cars(peugo and citron) But I haven't had speedvision for a while so I don't see much other that results. I'd take the hatch and slam every civic drivers head in it if I could.lol

its all coming together, after a year.

I like our body style better (wrx or sti) but it doesn't look that bad.

I saw a small caption in the most recent Road & Track I think (not sure which mag, but they reviewed the EVO X and the new Camaro and some italian guy's concept Mustang) and there was a blurb about how subaru IS going to eliminate the sedan. They had a picture of an STI wagon body style. is that? hoepfully thats not the case, ### I would never own the subaru version of an A3 or a VW Golf.

Garage
It's actually the March Motor Trend. They state that the hatch is, "likely will be the only body style offered".

anyone else think that it looks a lot like a forester. maybe a little closer to the ground and a shorter wheelbase. but it looks alot like a forester.
