I don't know what to tell you except you're right----the car should at least be in the mid 14s. My 99 Civic Si did a 15.6 and I know the WRX is much faster that the Honda. What kind of weather was present? Lot of humidity? What was your 60 ft. time? The 60 ft. time will tell you if you are getting a good launch. I'm guessing the WRX should do about 1.9 second 60 ft. times stock. I also read that alot of people will shift too soon with stock boost control because the car just seems to die at about 5G...but I think you're supposed to hold it to redline anyway to get the best times?????? :-?
True, it does take some skill to drag race, but some conditions can affect a car's performance. If you don't have any drag racing experience, it could be the combination of the two resulting in unexpected 1320 times. I would guess your times would increasingly get better the more times you hit the track.
It wasnt on a track just on a straight bit of road that me and a friend raced. But again the Gtehc thingie told me ai was running mid 15.5s and dont know what to do differently. I found that it lagged a bit off the start and I launched at 4k rpms. What should I change?

When I ran a 14.2 at commerce GA I launched at 5K, slipped the clutch untill I started moving, then floored it and let the clutch the rest of the way out. The car was stock except for a MBC set at 15PSI.
You ought to check for Vaccume leaks all the same nekard. Check the hoses around the wastegate, blow by valve (blow off vavle) and make sure all the fittings are good n tight like a german virgin .
You also might want to chcek your airbox and make sure you don't have any crap stuck in there killing your airflow, unlikely but I had 7-8 leaves in mine! I'm sure that wasn't helping me any.
Do you have a bunch of stuff in your car? Added weight won't help anything either. Do the launch as Mike said, 5K start rolling and dump it.
I suppose I will try that then. The slipping thing is what i need t work on. The moving then flooring it technique sounds easy to so but I have tried it time and time again. I will keep on doing it til I get it right. Thanks everyone!

yeah it sounds like you are loosing a lot of time when you bog.
I do the same thing when autoXing (you have to launch then too) and I just take the slightly slower time than fry my clutch or kill my tranny. Maybe if I ever ProSolo then I will launch hard......
So why is that everyone else goes and buys a new WRX and they just bought a low 14 car. Mine has some type of restrictor plate on it in which the car is only about a mid 15 at its best. Can I not drive or what? I barely took and old SER and today I got beat off the line TWICE, yes, TWICE by an old Eagle Talon TSi. I want the best way to launch my WRX go I can get into the damn 14s. Help me god help me...
