Personally, I could care less if people talk about it or not. I think either the people here don't do it, or some do but don't want to get flamed. I would guess that it falls under Driving Experiences so this would be the forum for it. Why? Do you have a street racing story? If you do, at least I won't flame you. One of the most amusing post's I have read was a street racing story between a GEO metro and a Yugo. It was hilarious, especially given the fact that these cars barely have the power to break through a soggy paper bag.
I wouldn't neccessarily say it's taboo. On one had I think it's irresponsible, dangerous, and can put innocent people at risk. But I also know there are "safer" circumstances in which a race can occur on the street.
I think it's safe to say everyone here has driven beyond what the law (and our moms  ) would allow on occasion. The question becomes, do we want to encourage a potentially dangerous side of our hobby? Is there a way to tell stories without being irresponsible?
I read an interview with the designer of GT3 (yes, the video game) and he said he intentionally made the tokyo courses looks like tracks rather then simply recreating the Tokyo streets the track was based on so that people wouldn't think he was encouraging street racing. I think we could probably do the same here, simply by leaving out some of the "on the road details", We'll assume all races were done on empty roads with no bystanders around.
The last thing I would want is for someone to start bragging about how they beat some RSX racing through traffic (although I don't think that's the kind of people we have here anyway.)
So,.. I guess the point of my rant is go ahead and post! We'll all define what's acceptable and what's best left unsaid as we go along. Afterall, what good is this site if you can't speak your mind?
The only street racing post I would ever make is when I humble someone in the twisty roads. Man, does that make me feel good! Especially when its someone who is on your back in the strait roads.

I know all of you guys/gals do some form of mild or wild street racing from time to time. Even if it is only from 0-50 next to some POS civic, we all do it. Why not talk about it in a new section dedicated to that? Then we could share bragging rights plus no what to screw with and what no to.
