A lot of different variables can screw up the G-tech readings (temperature, ground slope, etc.). With my G-tech, my WRX did a 13.96 stock. I was on level ground when I did this run and it was about 50 degrees out.

I guess you trust it then huh? What type of launch and everything else did you do? So could I have been going up hill or what? Its just bugging the hell out of me.

One of the variable is the actual temperature of the g-tech unit itself. The colder it is the slower your times and speed will read. It has to do with how much the sensor bends under acceleration, the colder the sensor is, the less it bends. Try bringing it inside for a couple of hours, then find a level 1/4 mile and run it with the defroster on. Maybe you will get a better time, but then again, maybe you can't drive worth a shit. :P (JK!)

Thanks mike. Keep the old self-steem ballon a deflatin'. mike, do you have a g-tech too? If so, what kind of times have you run? I want to at least get into the the 14second range with the beast and out of the 15s! I know I had everything off, heat and air wise to try and gain that extra bit of HP. I will try that theory again tonight when I go out. Keep it nice and warm.

Thanks mike your the best!! But seriously, how did you launch the car? And if I the speed was 94 could the time be off? I have no clue. I think that I will totally disreguard the G-tech powers because they are simply false. But thanks again for the ego boost.

I dont know. The BUTTDYNO is a great source of "Damn my car is faster now!" I wish I could have been a track and used the Gtech because the road we chose to do this thing on had some shallow turns in it and I am not sure if it was flat or now. I cant wait til the track opens back up. I can then get a very accurate time on the car.

I don't trust the G-tech (13.9 with a stock WRX....no way). I launched my car with the wheelspin method. Put about 41psi in your tires and pop the clutch at about 4500. If you do it right, your front tires will break loose for a moment and prevent a bog on takeoff. It may be harsh on the tranny, but damn it feels good. If you use the G-tech to determine if mods were worthwhile, you would have to use the same road that you used for your baseline....and hope the temp. is about the same.

I wish I was as lucky. I hope it generates better numbers for you than me. The only other thing that I could might be wrong is that i was in a manual tranny car because an automatic car ran right on his old time from the track.

At least that G-Tech works.. I bought mine from E-bay, and there's nothing I can do about it. It won't turn on, and there's no factory warranty. That company doesn't even have a tech-line. Just an order line! Bleh...

"If it's jammed, force it. If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway." Or throw it against the wall and start crying about how you lost 140 bucks on a bad E-bay deal.

nekard.....you are actually pretty close to the Memphis Motorsports Park...aren't you? You could get actual 1320 numbers there...the track is great...I've been there several times before with my previous rides....every Thursday night is Test and Tune night from 5:30 to 10:00....$15 and you get as many runs as you can..

You said that you bought it from Ebay. They actually have policies against people selling defective products through their service. If I were you, I would contact Ebay and they would help you out, I think. But it is worth a try.

Thanks for the info Nekard. I was too lazy to read through all that mumbo jumbo when I joined e-bay, and now I regret it. x.x Thanks anyway though.

No prob. Thats why I am here. But just remember not to leave negative feedback. If you leave negative feedback for that person, they will leave negative feedback for you and there is no reason you should have the bad feedback. Its your call but good luck.

Gtech...Right or WRONG?

Ok who can help on this one. I just got to barrow a Gtech. Its about 3 in the morning and about 31 degrees...cold. A couple of buddies of mine and myself go out and test this little baby out. I am out there and I do the conservative launch, good shifts, 15.8 at 98 mph. I am really disappointed in that. I try it again, 15.5 at 94 mph. What gives? At this point i dont feel like burning off the whole clutch plate so I deciede to call it a night. I think I will be giving it another shot tomarrow night but I need some feedback. The second launch I launched it at about 4500 rpms and feathered it out quickly but didnt pop the clutch as for it to bog. Help me out here gentlemen and ladies. I KNOW that the REX is faster but am I getting all worked up for nothing over this little radar-detector like thing or is it right and I just cant drive worth shit?
