Using the Regional Meets & Events Forums (Rules & Guidelines)

Please do not use the regional forums as a replacement for the Classifieds, the Hangout Forum (off topic chat), or the Tech Forums. If you post something that is better suited for one of those areas, we'll move the post or delete it. The regional forums are designed to be used for event organization and helping local WRX members get together.

If you're posting an announcement about a local meet or event, post it in one of the Event Calendars. You can post a thread in the regional forum to discuss the event, but make sure the event is posted in the calendar first. Please only post a thread focused around one specific event instead of posting one big "local" thread. Long run-on threads create problems for site speed.

If you're trying to find members in your area, avoid asking "anyone from 'xxx' city?" There is an easier way to find that info. Just click the Site Members link up in the navigation bar. On that page will be a Search Members link that will take you to this page:
Search Members
Search for state (and city or region names) to find other members in your area.

If you have a question for local members that is not related to an event, that is okay. But be sure and title your thread well so people know what you need. Try and keep the off-topic discussions to a minimum.

What we absolutely don't want is for tech questions being asked here instead of the Tech forums, where they should be posted. We don't want Classifieds being posted when we have a separate Classifieds section. We don't want long run-on threads where locals post about multiple events instead of posting new threads for each new event. If we find that a specific regional forum tends to have a lot of activity, we'll consider opening a separate forum for them in order to help prevent these long run-on threads. However, if you just title your threads appropriately, there is no need for the long threads.
