Question tire fitment

the rims I ordered are 17x8 with an offset of +48
will 235 45 r17 tires fit?

Matthew

yes, but 225/45s would be the more logical choice.

I have a set of 235s. They are about as wide as you can go, but I don't rub with Tein S-Tech springs and KYG-AGX shocks.

235/40 would be perfect. there are lots of summer tires with this size. but if you're looking for all season tires most choices you'll find are 225/45 or 235/45 if you're looking for diameters closest to stock. i went with 225/45 re960AS on my 17x8 just because of slightly faster gear with them since tires aren't as tall as 235/45. here's a neat tire calculator http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html.

It's true, you'd want 235/40 and not 235/45 but 225/45/17 is a more standard choice

i found out that it will fit, they are just larger than the place reccommends, due to rubbing issues that could occur, but I called tirerack and they said that would not be any problem.

Yeah should be fine. I ran 235/45/17 on my 17x7.5 with no rub but of course I wasn't lowered much. I believe you can go up to 245/40/17 without rolling.
