strut life

Assuming non-racing application but serious driving over mtn roads 25% of the time, how long will stock struts last? As these are pricy items I want to be saving up for them. Also - is SOA part OK or are others better. I've read 'Training WRX' cover-to-cover, which gives good information about a lot of topics, but does not say much about this.

typical life is between 20-40k miles, but....with aggressive driving, less. they are not too bad on prices, stock ones are, though. kyb will have replacements avail.in oct, thats what my rep at work said. there are other companies out there too, but i personally like kyb as a replacement. thats whats on them factory. or, just go to a coilover setup, but thats some serious jack. plus, for regular driveing, no racing, stick with a replacement style strut. hope this helps.
