sometimes after I wash my car or my car gets rained on, it gets that yellowish tinge on my rotors. Usually with a little drive and a couple stops, its all cleared up?!?!

there is nothing physically wrong with that due to rust. You can see the contact area is rust free. Clearly it doesn't look the way you want though. Consider getting a new part if the look bothers you...

scrubbing and painting can be a very time consuming activity plus you have to be careful not to screw up the contact area. IMHO not worth it

You can't avoid rust on brake rotors. It's just part of owning a car. You can prevent it from forming around the 'hat' areas by sanding it down, cleaning it up, and painting it with a high temp paint, but the heat will only brake down the paint and make it rust again. As for the rust on the brake surface itself. There is Nothing you can do that will last longer than a week.

sand the rust off and tape whatever you don't want to paint, use BBQ high temp spray paint, I've done it before on my integras and on my dad's accord, never peeled off.

hahahahah that's nothing, you should see the rust on my Civic's rotors. It's been sitting too long. The rust on the "hat" part is no big deal. As long as you don't have gouges or warping on the surface that touches the pads, you should be ok.

I've had good luck painting the rotors (not the disc part that comes in contact with the pads) with high-temperature paint. You will need to take the rotors off to do the job.
