new rims! 48 offset wont clear caliper!

got new rims and the offset is 48 they will not clear my front calipers in my 07 wrx.

anyone know if wheel spacers are safe to use.. all i really need is like half a inch more to clear my caliper but will i run into problems if i use a wheel spacer like studs will be to short or wheel bearing problems? wheels are 17x7 48 offsett. anyone got ideas to make them fit safely. ill be gettin 215/45/17 tires for these rims

you SURE its a -48 offset? i have a -45 offset on my wheels and i can fit my hand in between the wheel and caliper!

yes im pretty sure its 48 offset says the box it came from and adr's website. the spoke touches my caliper slightly. any one have sugesstions for making it fit? .. im guessing more like a quarter half of an inch.

Spacers will apply a little more load to the wheel bearings, but just keep it as thin as possible and you will be fine.. You can get 1/8 spacers..

how much of a risk does a wheel with like -45 offset, or having spacers like you suggested above pose to wheel bearings?
like my wheel is -45 should i be expecting to replace the wheel bearing any time soon? will the bearing fail?
i understand that it puts more stress on but is it really that much

no not unless you go crazy and run a huge spacer you wont have anything to worry about.

most likely yes, but studs are easy to change.

if you had 5 or 7 mm spacers, you're going down to a 43 to 41mm offset and you'll seriously be dicking over your handling. Sell the rims and get something that fits.

maybe they sent the wrong wheels-offset wise i mean. have you called the manufacture to make sure they are correct and will fit. i would make any changes or install em untill you make sure cause if you scratch em they may not accept em back for exchange.

i think they might have screwed up bro. I have an 07 WRX too and have rims with a 48 offset and they fit fine.

look at the shape of the rim- the spokes lay way back at the edges- the reason it's scraping the caliper.

anything over 3mm will require longer studs (some would argue even 3mm need longer studs).

If your set on those wheels I'd get some cheap universal fit 3mm spacers and see if that does the trick- you need to just clear the rim ou need a ton of extra room. If 3mm doesn't clear get put the other one on the same side just to see if that does it (you'll need longer studs for certain). If 6 mm doesn't do it- I'd look at other rims.

I think those are the ADR victory.... If the offset is right then the issue is with spokes....
You have to be careful just because the offset is correct you may have issues with calipers depending on the wheel design.... The offset just assures no rubbing with the fender wells and inner fender.

so i got 3 mm spacers .only need them for the front and they fit nice and dandy.
btw taking 3mm off will the lug seat properly? will it be fine as long as i torque them down to spec? it'll suck dick if my wheels fly off in the highway.
