Well, the Subzeros are extremely nice pricewise and performance wise. I've yet to hear about anybody trashing one.

If you'd like to bump up in the price range a little bit more, there are some other choices. Dronell D-Powers and the new option 17" Subaru Legacy B4 wheels come to mind. They will be a little closer to $1k and still offer a nice rim thats not exceedingly heavy. I think the 18" D-Powers are like 18lbs.

Knock-off wheels... pros & cons

I just got my new Rex last week. As you might recognize me from recent posts, I'm looking for info on new wheels and coilovers. Thanks for all the info by the way. Anyway, I'm very particular about wheels. It's difficult for me to describe what I like, but it's easy for me to spot what I don't. So, I like the Rota Subzero's, but my friends are pushing me toward the Advans... both the RG's and the Model 6's, which I like, but the $1400+ pricetag vs. the $550 is compelling. I'm getting reactions like, "Do you want to put knock-off wheels onto your brand new WRX?"

I'm not really concerned with image, just price and performance. So, does anyone have anything negative to say about the Sub-Zero's? Are they cheap...??? Any performance issues? If I was made of money I'd go with the Advans in a second, maybe even the Cp035's, but on my budget, I'm all about the Sub-Zero's. I'm coming from the point of view that I'd like to sink that extra $850+ into those DMS 40mm Golds....

What do you think???
