how do i know if my car has springs?

i bought an 04 wrx with a few mods on it. i was looking into tein s tech lowering springs, and i had 2 questions

1) im thinking my car might already have aftermarket springs on it....how do i tell because it would be pointless to put something on my car thats already done obviously. and i cant call the guy because i dont have his number anymore.

2) if i got springs, is it something i could do? or does it need to be done professionally?

here is a picture of it....idk if you can tell by it.

what color are the springs, they look like S-Techs.
Personally i would just save up and get coilovers, because your struts will wear out faster when its lowered that far,

it will be bouncy, and there will be lots of understeer. I HAD s-techs on my car , and i was one of the very few that said they wont ruin my struts, I was wrong, very wrong. Before I took them off my car, I checked the oil and it was full. and after i put my stock springs back on the oil was half a quart low, because of the amount that the s-techs lower the front, compaired to the rear.
