Finally replaced my lower ball joint today. What a pain in the @$$!!
But I don't hear a clunking noise anymore and I'm ready for inspection.
Thanks for the help everyone.

Glad to hear you got it done !

Guess I should ask since I'm planning on moving out there, do I have safety inspections to look forward to on my car before I can register it out there ?

I'll be installing a cat next week. (a nice fuzzy calico ) No really, I'm going to weld in a Magnaflow just after the DP, and get tested here in Colo. Hopefully I'll pass and be ready for Mass. My glass is all good, the car is track worthy and leak free. Any other safety things to be prepared for ?

They don't tail pipe test here, they just read the ECU. You should be fine catless, as long as you don't have any CEL's and it's not really loud.

No visual or smog test then. Just a OBDII scan from the sounds of it.

I think the cat will quiet it down some. I'm installing so I won't have to worry about tail pipe sniffers, if I end up in a state that does. Depending on the employment situation, I could end up in MA, NH, VT or NY. How long do you think I can get away with flying my N.M. tags for (in Mass) ?

As long as you want.... Buddy of mine kept his NM tags here in TX for 2+ years.... Might be different up there though.

Well you should be all set as long as your mailing address is out of state.
