Cobb sway bars

I have Cobb sway bars, front and rear. Where can I get replacement bushings for them? And does anyone know if they are 25mm front and rear? Thanks.

Energy makes pretty good stiff sway bar bushings. I doubt they're 25mm rear, that's usually a big bar even for the front. Just take a tape measure to it. If it's an inch in diameter, it's 25mm. Any less than that and you'll want to measure exactly what it is but I would guess 22mm rear, but maybe 19mm.

I would guess COBB is 22 front, 19 rear.

They are 25mm hollow bars (I have them on my car). I believe Whiteline makes replacement bushings, but I don't know if they fit.

I would contact TIC, as they sell almost all WL bushings and ask them.

Also, you may not need new bushings...you may just need to regrease your current ones.

I've had a squeaking suspension for a while. I greased my rear bushings multiple times, but it was only a temporary fix. I replaced the rear bushings yesterday, but now my front bushings sound like they are squeaking. And it was a pain to replaced the rear ones because the brackets weren't the right size; had to custom fit them and it was a pain.

So apparently Cobb still sells the bushings, even though they don't sell the bars anymore. And it's only $3.50 per bushing. Thanks for the help guys, but it looks like I'm all set.

G'day everyone,

mfarnham, just a tip on measuring swaybars. Best to use a Vernier calliper to get a true outside diameter and equally, the direction of the tolerance. Though the swaybar material might have a nominal 25mm diameter, it may be "bar peeled" before forming, have a heavy coat of powder and or anti-corrosion material or otherwise change in actual physical OD.

The result is that the bar may be actually 25.75mm or closer to 26mm in which case it's better to order a 26mm set. Most suppliers will have 1mm stepped choices in their common ranges for this reason. Most importantly if using polyurethane, best not to have undersized diameter.

Also, be careful that you don't measure the material on or near a bend as forming of the bar can distort the diameter on or near the bend depending on production method and care taken.

Hope that helps.
Cheers
Whiteline Jim
