Cobb Springs? Yay or nay?

Im looking at Cobb Tuning springs for the 08 WRX, but then i see the sticky about lowering springs degrading shocks, decreasing tire contact and generally being bad.

So my question is...Should i just wait for my bonus in may and get the Cobb stage 2 package? Or are the springs kinda designed for the rest of the suspention stock because i havent come across Cobb shocks/struts just sway bars and springs.

any other sugestions are welcome, thanks

When springs are paired with the right shock setup its usually fine for the car. Cobbs 02-05 springs I know were desinged to work with stock components. It does still wear out the stock shocks quicer as the Cobb and an other other spring for that matter is stiffer than stock. So you can get them, and put them on now, then get better/stiffer shocks to go with it, or do them both at the same time (which will save time and money). I have met several people with the Cobb springs, they like the look and feel of them. Several were still on stock, some upgraded other suspsension parts.

Nay. I am not a fan of the Cobb springs...they will kill your struts. There is not much out there in terms of springs for the '08. IMHO the Swift Springs are your best bet. They will give you a nice drop, improve handling, and are designed for the stock struts.

Cobbs are also. But with a stiffe srping rate and lower stance any last choice of spring on a stock strut will ware faster, plain and simple.

Same difference, stiffer spring, strut will wear out faster. Its all in what you want as far as how low. Most the bigger name companies (Cobb, SPT, Perrin) work well with the stock struts, but will still ware out the stockers faster than stock springs.
