Brake Upgrade Options for an '04 WRX

Aside from a big Brake Kit (Brembo example shown below) that costs $3,638 plus tax and shipping, what more practical and value-focused options are there to upgrade the brake hardware on an '04 WRX, for my future planning.

For trackwork I'm going to try track pads first, will upgrade to braided steel lines with a better brake fluid if that's still not sufficient, before I consider upgrading the brake gear itself.

Still, it would be good to know if there are any practical brake upgrade options that won't break the bank like those Brembos.

The great thing about the '04 WRX is that it's had plenty of developent since it was introduced and there is loads of go-fast gear available for it. Someone's gonna know.

New rotors, pads, braided brake lines and syn fluid should do you well.

KNS Brakes are a great place to start. Got 4 corners done for just under $425 (HD Centric rotors and EBC Redstuff pads, fluid).

H6 rear rotor upgrade and brake MC brace.

A BBK would just make your already bad front brake bias even worse unless you get the rear kit too.

06-07 WRX brakes are what they use on almost every rally car since you can still get a 15" wheel around em, they're plenty big. Try to track down those.

I did the 06-07 front brake upgrade and the feel alone was worth it. Uses the same factory rotor size and a direct bolt on with no additional brackets.

This '06 - '07 WRX brake upgrade sounds like the way to go in due course then. Is the swap just calipers or brake master cylinder assembly as well?

I wouldn't do the 06-07 wrx upgrade and call it a day without the previous lines, fluid, pads upgrade.

I know this personally.

Roger that, Paul. No upgrade planned, but track pads purchased, master cylinder support and maybe lines desired.

I should note my lines have been upgraded years prior to installing the Subaru 4 pots.
