i dont even know if that is the proper term for it.. i just hear everyone refer to it that way..
but when the spokes are deeper into the rim.. compare the rim i posted above to a stock rim and how the spokes meet the flush with the ring of the rim... opposed to the HRE i posted sits deep into the rim..
I wouldn't consider those deep dish, it looks like it just has a lip to me. Remember the old A.R.E 5 stars from the early, mid 90's those are deep dish IMO.
H.R.E are nice but thats a little over baord in cost ( I shouldn't talk my rims and tires were 3600.00) how much do they weigh, and what are your roads like, will they be easly damaged?
a lot of wheels look sick with the recessed spokes. the pic you showed dosent look that bad
another follow up question, is a "Deep dish" wheel more sturdy? it seems mechanicly more sound design, the forces the wheels are subject too seem more evenly spread with the spoked closer to the center as aposed to the outside.
yeah it was hard to tell for me if they were deep dish or not since the only ones i can really think of are those volks.. but either way i love them..
and the actual cost will be more like 3750 for wheels and tires..
and i dont really want the zr rated tires thats just what they come with... but it makes sense.. every pic of these rims are generally on a lambo ferrari or porsche.. lol..
I would prefer some sticky v rated tires.. I do track stuff not drag or super fast driving.. i am all about handling...
my roads around here are here n there bumpy but over all fairly smooth.. not beautiful but not so bad i would be worried about my rims at all.. they arent full of pot holes in anymeans..
still any thoughts on HRE? What about HRE Vs. BBS?? or SSR? Or Iforge?? i figure i am spending near 5500 dollars for my new suspension + wheels so i want all thoughts!
yeah, i sat there and thought about it for like 15 minutes and, for the life of me, could not figure out how the two are related.
i even drew diagrams.
in fact, the only thing i concluded was that the only forces that determin tire ware (wheel related) is the amount of air (or nitrogen, depending on your usage) you have in your tires. more meens center wears faster, to little meens the sholders wear faster
I personally wouldn't buy anything HRE makes. They have been banned from numerous tracks and sanctioning organizations because they break pretty commonly.
cosmo.. never has been a time within the year ive been on this forum... that you havent had a very useful answer thanks bro..
any thoughts in comparison in brands as far as BBS-PRODRIVE-SSR-ADVAN-VOLK/GRAMLIGHTS-WORKWHEELS-IFORGE they all make great wheels i am sure.. but anyone prefer one over the other ? (i am looking for light/strong/goodlookin)
I honestly don't think you can go wrong with any of those brands. Any time you pay $300+ for a single wheel, you should be getting good stuff. Of course, there are exceptions like the HRE's....
I have to say that the Volks are very strong and light weight. I was just on vaction, got a little drunk and wondered off a little into a divider in the middle of the road and I ended up bending the strut more than the rim. I'm sure any other rim would of craked from the hit

Thanks, I have to take some new pics I have STI fog light covers now! I'm not good with computers though, it took me forever to get the pics I have on there
Dude if you were willing to spend 4 grand on HREs (which are ment for like BMWs, Aston Martins.........not REXs) Then you should go with volks you cant go wrong with them there some of the hottest wheels.
