I have the Perrin and it's supposed to be louder. It's surprising how you get used to it. I bet my neighbors and anyone with a car alarm still hates me... speaking of which, I set one off no longer than 15 minutes ago

i dont agree with the "sounds like a v8" i mean prove me wrong i havent heard everysetup but compare my friends turboback wrx with an uppipe and headers.. it sounds nothing like my other friends 2003 mustang with full exhaust... sure the WRX sounds damn burly and big but the v8 vs the unequal header wrx have two different sounds when they are truly flooring it. the wrx has the loud n burly rumble, but the v8 has a loud many piston roar. just my opinion, but other people have seen different things.. no one can say theyve really seen it all.. theres too many combos that can be done to change the sound. and ya muffler affects a lot of the sound. for example the borla hush sounds very different than the HKS carbon titanium..

One description that made me laugh was a guy in a magazine talking about a 4g63 powered car (not sure now if it was EVO or DSM) running on 3 cylinders. "It sounded like a really bad @ss WRX"

Keith

WRX at 218 WHP (dynapack, aprx 275 BHP) and EVO at 375 WHP (Mustang dyno, aprx 510 BHP) on pump gas.

I think with the stock un-equal length setup we must have two of the exhaust pulses reaching the turbo at almost the exact same time, so we get two small pulses, one big pulse, and one "missing" pulse.

Sounds like an 3 banger with two .5 liter cylinders and one 1 liter cylinder
