Would a cut out require a different tune in order to keep the engine happy? It seems like these cars are a little sensitive to mods.

That is one of the better videos I have seen. I will wait to see if power is increased, or better in anyway before making the decision. Definetly not something you (at least me) would drive around daily with, lol.

that's just sick! my friend got a Borla and sounds pretty similar to that. the mig welders they use are like super professional lincoln welders and just look flawless, in my opinion. I would get out of the way if a wrx pulled up to me, and sounded like that.

I have the Perrin Stealth Street CBE. Its nice and deep and the sound isn't loud at idle. It's mean at WOT. The best part is, hardware and gaskets are included. Oh, and the "Stealth" part just means its powdercoated black instead of polished SS. I like it. Gonna be gettin an Invidia V4 BM dp soon.

For what its worth, I bought one of those cheap turbo back exhausts of ebay for like 300 bucks. I was a little unsure about it at first, but I have now had it for about a year and also went stage 2 with the cobb ap. The exhaust looks great and sounds great. So if your into saving money, you would probably be just is happy with that. I mean its really just some welding and piping, it's not that complex of a part, the question is how long will it last. I'm guessing most will out last the car.

CMC,
I am in the exact same situation as you, just got an 04 blk hatchback
Looking into new exhausts too. I've heard great things about the COBB stage 2 system but its extremely pricy ($1,100) ouch... although I've got my heart set on it, I've heard good stuff about the HKS and Greddy systems, greddy seems a little to ricey for me.
Check out
oakos automotive - google search
and
wrxpro.com
Both places seem to have good stuff + pix and seem to charge a little less than some other sites
Good Luck
