WRX Exhaust Advice

So I just bought an '04 wrx wagon and it is completely stock. The first thing I want to do is replace the exhaust system to get a nice sound. What would be the best system to get that low rumble (blub blub blub) at idle and a nice throaty sound when revving? On youtube I've found HKS and Greddy to sound the best but I'm not sure yet. I'm not looking to increase HP yet just improve the sound.

Thanks for any suggestions

Those are pretty nice exhaust, I know many that also like the EVO2 and the way it sounds. But just be aware that it might draw more (negative) attention becuase of the size and the look. Also check out the perrin, or cobb exhausts. They have stock appearance and have a great sound to them also.

I'm running an Invidea hi-flow catted downpipe and Invidea G200 catback system. The rumble is sweet and at boost sounds like a WWII plane zooming by. You might also want to check out Youtube videos...

I went with the GReddy Evo 2. I love the sound, but if I had to do it all over again I would get a MadDad Whisper or Borla Hush.

My name is Ken and I am a HP Junkie.

Borla Hush fTWW! Low inside noise, low deep idle gurgle not too loud around town, beastly when WOT! Top this with a CAI and nice sleeper killer sounds!

BJJ for the win!

My advice...if your looking for quiet don't go with the Helix or APS 3.5"...I've run both and there tremendously loud and draw alot of un-wanted attention...which is why I'm about to go back to my stock catback and weld a QTP electirc cutout into my downpipe

oldfartracer is more helpful than not
I ran a TurboXS RFL, which is just plain LOUD. I have switched the axel back to stock STI one. This still give a nice rumble and I can now talk inside the car. I would look into a Turbo XS stealth back.
The MadDad Whisper is also another one to look at.

+1 for the Borla Hush, twin tip, not single tip (too loud, b/c no resonator). It has the deepest tone. I've been running mine for about 4 years and 30k miles.

I just got a HKS with 3 inch piping and I love it. I also got a 3-inch DP cat less and its not that loud but it has a really nice low tone to it and sounds great at idle. In my Opinion it’s great.
