wraping up-pipe with heat wrap???

who has done this? ive done this to previous cars and it does lower under hood temps. but the goal on a wrx would be to keep the heat away from the #3 cylinder. what do u guys think? will there be any problems from doing this?

There shouldn't be any problems doing this. We wrap the pipes on our karts (back when we used to run 4 cycle engines) and have had no problems. The stuff works like it's supposed to.
