Would a reflash be necessary with these mods?

I plan on first getting an up and downpipe followed by a transmission cooler and torque converter (I have an auto rex)

Would I have to flash my ECU in order to take advantage of these differences, and if so, would i have to do it before I installed the mods?

Also, if those are the things I chose to do, are there any thing else i need to change to run them safely? Thanks.

Imo....

In my opinion, any wrx could use a reflash, mainly because they run rich from the factory. WRX ecu's are tuned very conservatively due to the abuse that bad drivers may do to the car. With the mods you listed, i would say wait to get one until you have your total exhaust done and some more engine work, it just isnt worth it at this point, unless you have more money than you know what to do with of coarse.

Overall, stick with a Turbo XS UTEC. You can tune it yourself (with a little training) and you can retune it and download maps off the internet all you want after you buy it, so your ride will always be running to its full potential.

You don't need a reflash, but a reflash will help you take full advantage of all the parts you have installed.

I think it would be a stupid idea for Subaru to not make an automatic WRX because it would cut sales. And also a friend of mine has an auto WRX because he was in an accident and really messed up his left leg, so he can't push in the clutch.

A reflash would be beneficial but not mandatory, get an AccessPort & load a stage 2 map & you'll be a happy camper. Definitely do the TC & cooler first, it's a ##### waiting on it to spool up when you start making big HP numbers.

Yes, they do make 4eats & they are practically bulletproof (or is that idiotproof?) I have one becaue you cannot teach a 40 year old female to drive a 5-sp if they never had. Took a little to get used to, but being able to punch it at 100 mph, downshift to 3rd & hold until about 118 is a blast. Catch 4th at 120 & I run out of straight road before I run out of power.

Oh yeah, and you can eat a cone of ice cream while embarrassing ricers. Always multi-tasking... !Laugh!
