Will I be safe?

So I'm on my way to installing an uppipe and turboback exhaust. I have greddy boost and egt gauges. Stock airbox (silencer removed). So... will I be safe without a reflash or a utec? I mean, can I go for a while without having to worry of blowing my engine?

Thanks

You will be fine. Those mods don't do anything that would directly cause you to blow your motor.

Ok...thanks for all your input. My question now is: when WILL I need a reflash or something? When I increase boost only?

A reflash is going to get you more power..... I suggest UTEC over a reflash, but thats another debate

EM will get you more power like others have said, most of it comes from leaning out the stock AFR's, which are quite rich. and i would suggest a reflash over the UTEC. You can get a ECUtek or Cobb protune if you don't want to mess with maps, or the CObb Street tuner if you want to mess with tuning yourself. I would recommend a custom dyno tune over a generic off the shelf map.

A tune will let you take full advantage of the mods you are adding, plus give you a lot smoother curve on the ecu and much more power. I have gone with the ecuTek reflash and love it.

Garage
This has probably been covered someplace, but after getting a UTEC, (or reflash, or whatever) leaning out the AFRs, I imagine you will notice an increase in fuel economy. Has anyone noticed this tobe the case?

Yep. I get 20 mpg around town, and about 32 mpg on the interstate.

Yeah..... well see... the problem is that there are no places near where I live (Puerto Rico) that do the Ecuteck reflash so the only way I'd have to go is the UTEC or the AP; both of which I don't have the money yet. So, I guess I will install the Helix UP/DP with the stock catback then and greddy boost/egt gauges. Thanks for ## replies.
