What parts do I need for this TMIC/Sti scoop setup?

Hey guys, I've decided ito order a painted STI scoop before I put all my new goodies on. I'm a little confused about which parts I need to make it work properly. I know I need the STI air splitter, but do I need the rubber boot as well? I'm going to be running a turboXS tmic.

My Sti scoop bolted right on in place of my old one, no extra parts needed.

From what I remember, the STi splitter and/or boot won't work with an aftermarket TMIC... You don't really need them anyways.

Hmm...I thought I read on nasioc that the STI splitter will net better airflow over an upgraded TMIC.

I could be wrong, it's been a long time since I've read about that whole air splitter delima.

i'm sure anything that helps direct the air down into the IC will help

That's what I was led to believe. The STI splitter is supposed to divert air flow over the front of the IC to help keep the intake temperature down. I'm just not sure if I need the splitter AND the rubber boot.

The STI splitter diverts a more even air flow over the entire surface intercooler. It is a direct bolt on and needs nothing else. The splitter is nice for air flow but not necessary. especially with an aftermarket TMIC.

It's a fitment issue, not whether it helps or not. I think I got my terminology mixed up. Maybe it's the boot that won't fit, so I'd have that confirmed. The splitter is for directing air over the IC more evenly, reducing hotspots where air might miss. Sorry, my mistake on what was what.
