You can run as much boost as you like. The question is will your engine hold up to it?

the VF22 REALLY falls on its face over 20psi..if you are wanting to pump massive cyl pressures....try the Garret 450, or the PE1850...or another hybrid version....TXS is working on a t3/t4..so i have heard. talk to nathan at TXS..he has a good knowledge of high power WRX's....but he is runnin a modded internal engine...stock REALLY doesnt like over 18psi..this i have found out.....

get a different turbo. the compressor wheel of the VF22 is not designed to hold high boost levels...nor are any of the VF series. for HIGH boost...a PE 1820, or 1850 are good, or the Garret 450.

as for the engine...DEF get the block changed over to a closed deck.and o-ring it, with head studs. the stock bottom holds up roughly to ~20psi...give or take. i am getting ready to do a 2.5 buildup for mine....

you are looking at a large investment to get the EJ20 to hold large boost levels....personally, i would run 18psi....ona stage 4 setup. vf34, tmic, sti inj. pump, etc......for good all around driveability.
