VF 35 vs VF 23

Hello to all,

I have the possibility to buy used these 2 turbos for sfr.500
(something like $ 300).
One have only 1500 km (taking of from an STI europen model
the othere one from an engine STI tuned from GGR and have 200/300 km test engine (not in the car)

The question is which one is the best?
Which one makes the most power with the less lag, with my mods (see down)?

I will upgrade with sti injectors 520 or 565 and 255 fuel pump.

Thank You all

mods

TXS stage 2 with uppipe
Samco hoses for turbo and water

I beleive the 23 makes more HP??? But might be kinda laggy , depends really on your altitude , where it will be used......... someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Wow , cool price....why not buy BOTH , I'll buy the one you don't use.

Thank You for replaying,

I live in Switzerland and use always 98 octane fuel ,

I was thinking to have 340-350 HP (not on the wheels), i hope this power is more safe for my engine.

What Do You think?

Ciao

350Hp seems to be where the modders like to put this motor.

Seems to be within the safe limits of the aluminum block....

Not too much too it ,either. The stock internals should handle it.

Just don't put NOS on it:eek:

Are you looking for peak torque at mid-high rpm's , or low end grunt for the stoplights??......

I'd pick the 35 for lowend and the 23 for midrange.
Unless I'm backwards on the Hp and CFM #'s

Hi,

I was thinking to have a quick Subaru then low end/mid,
I think the VF 35 can do that power too?!but not shure.

The Tuner (a friend)here in Switzerland is installing in a Subaru STI 2002 a SR40 + Unichip with the complete exhaust system from APS.

He take away the VF 35 and he want to sell me.
He have the VF 23 used too.

Then i'm a little bit confused, because the price is good.

I seen both turbos and i think the VF 35 is bigger, or i'm wrong?

Ciao from Switzerland

p.s I will try this STI with SR 40 only curious to see how it goes

ahhhhhh.

Seems like you are correct , the 35 is for BIG power , and the 23 is a ballbearing turbo which means it should spool up kwicker , so that makes it a midrange turbo.

my bad

good luck
