Vf 34 W/o Ic?

I know its not a good idea. But can i run a VF34 without an upgraded intercooler? I am going to get a UTEC and I want to go ahead and get injectors, fuel pump, and turbo upgrade but I wont have the $$ for an intercooler until next summer, Im a poor college kid.

Would you suggest the VF 34 or VF30?

I think the 34 would be better but i dont know if i can run it on the stock intercooler.

Thanks for your help.

34. It wouldn't be bad, but you won't be able to get full potential out of it.

Vf34 Is Not A Bad Idea

You Can Still Get A Decent Boost With The 34 Turbo W/out Upgrading The Intercooler. You Will Just Need To Get A Bigger One Sooner Or Later To Be On The Safe Side If I Were You.

The VF30 and VF34 are the same turbo. The only difference is that the VF34 has a ball bearing center section, which allows it to spool slightly faster.

You can run it with the stock intercooler. You just won't be able to run as much boost as you would with an upgraded intercooler. I would definately get a bigger hood scoop if I were you.

Thumbs up you'll be fine

You can definately run a vf 34 without an aftermarket intercooler you will still notice a good power gain. You can just look forward to putting another IC on and getting more out of it.

The bigger intercooler will prevent knock and you can run alot more boost safely and will make more power at lower psi.. A friend of mine ran a vf22 at 20psi on a stock tmic..he put down 270whp he had all supporting mods.. i have a vf22 and a fmic and at 18psi i put down 300whp same mods except i have a cusco header...
