I rode in MikeWRX's Rex the other day and it made such an impression that I not only ordered the TurboXS stage II kit but ALSO the up pipe. Mike has the up pipe and cat back on and it makes an INCREDIBLE difference from my stock WRX. Night and day in my opinion. Of cource he has the TurboXS Stage1 with the Unichip so I'm sure that has alot to do with it, but the up pipe has to help getting rid of a preturbo cat, it certainly spools faster to me.
I looked around and honestly I think an up pipe is an up pipe. I would think as long as the manufacture got the tolerances right and it fit then it's good. I guess ceramic coated would hold a little heat better which is good. I chose to get one with both the factory bung AND a second 1/8th bung for an EGT gauge I got.
Oh, the installation is supposed to SUCK. I am looking forward to the end result but somewhat dreading problems getting the pipe on .
Have you ever heard of JetHot coatings? They will coat the pipe inside and out to keep heat in. I think I am going to do that. Of course it would keep the heat in plus provide better flow because of the smooth surface. Do you have any names of pipes to look at while I am researching all of this stuff?

It is a place out of Phoenix called VIvid racing. The uppipe was $269. the exhaust was $1100 (full stainless and HPC coated), and the Ingen intake was $229. It made such a difference, worth every penny. The next step is the suspension.
I have the Scoobysport downpipe, front midpipe, and backbox. Little on the loud side, but I can't bring my self toget rid of that yummy rumble.
I have a Perrin uppipe. Neither were installed before I had the 1820 on, so I can't really give accurate performance results.
The Scoobysport stuff is nice. I've also seen the TXS turbo back and that downpipe is nothing short of mammoth. Looks alot like the Scoobysport, just a bit bigger.

I went with the M2 up-pipe that I bought from Vivid Racing and it is awesome it also comes pre-tapped for the Aftermaket EGT sensor. I think I paid around 280.00. Thanks.
Ivan
I got the M2 as well. I put it in last night (with serious help from Mike) and all I can say is it is one of the most tedious things I've done in a LONG time. I'll post on it later, I hurt too bad now, hands, back, butt bone, shoulders, everywhere .
About how long did it take to do everything and did the car loose any fluids? Does anyone think there is any reason to worry about the flex joint in the up pipe that the MRT uppipe has and the M2 up pipe does not? Sorry about all the questions.

12 hours, no fluids gone yet! And unless I was on some REALLY harsh roads I don't personally feel that a flex pipe is needed. I installed an M2, fit perfect.
I tell you what, after doing this I am VERY glad I did but I wouldn't want to have to do it again. I'd do the up pipe and Turbo back at the same time. If it's a money thing then it makes since to wait, if it's inevitable that your going to do it any way then just do the whole darn thing IMO
I only got a CEL because I didn't put the O2 sensor in to begin with. As soon as I fixed that I had no problems. I've got over 200 miles and an AutoX on the car since the upgrade with NO problems.
Nope, TurboXS Stage II and an M2 Uppipe, blowoff valve, and I cut the milk jug off the intake and put a K&N in. Thats it. No CEL so far. I think dogging it at the AutoX and 200 miles should have done it by now. It has been cool outside, maybe I'll have issue when it warms up, hope not
