Uppipe cracked!!

last night was soooo much fun, I had to pull the uppipe off my car because the flex section in my uppipe cracked almost in two!! the thing sounded like a honda with the muffler sawed off. so last night after work I put the car up on the lift and sawzall'd the flex section out of the pipe, then tack welded a new section of stainless pipe in place, removed the uppipe and finished welding the new section in place. how's that for fun on a friday night??? What I cant figure out is why the damned thing cracked in the first place. Isn't the flex there to PREVENT cracking or leaks in the first place??? oh well fixed now.

no leakage at all, I guess it is nice having a bad ass welder at your disposal, It can weld aluminum, stainless, or mild steel. also helps to have scrap pipe from doing custom turbo installs sitting around.

the uppipe was part of the stone racing equal length header, the fix is working great, just getting a wee bit sick of hitting everything with the collector. probably going to pick up a gt-spec header next week. I get the stainless pipe from B+B so we can custom fab turbo systems and for use with external wastegates.

Too early for April fools.. I hope your turbo / intake valves / pistons / exhaust valves / turbo didn't get hit by any metal flakes

When I took the uppipe off to finish the welding do you really think I left the metal inside everything to jack up my motor?? Gee Yogie I guess not! I took the time to clean out the pipe, turbine housing, ect, I even cleaned my hands so I would't get any metal in my mouth / esophagas / stomach / intestines ect. when I ate later that evening.
