up-pipe options for '02 WRX

I have an '02 Rex with an exhaust leak in the stock up-pipe. I am using this as an excuse to upgrade to a non-catted up-pipe and just have a few questions. First off, the setup on the car is a Vishnu stage 0 reflashed ECU, cat-back exhaust, Perrin short ram air intake... as far as I know (I bought it already modified). I don't care too much about extra power, I just want an up-pipe that will last (high quality).

Q's:

Is it better to go with a flexible up-pipe or to go with no flex?

therefore, Is the Perrin up-pipe or the Helix up-pipe a better bet?

Are there any others I should consider?

One other mod I guess I should mention is that my car has STi engine and tranny mounts... Don't know if that would effect the need for flex or not in the up-pipe.

Thanks.

You might be in luck since there is someone selling a Brand new Helix up-pipe for about $130 shipped.

Check it out and good luck.

Optimally, get new gaskets and find a used STi pipe. The flex section in the Helix pipe will wear out eventually. Then it too will leak.

My car is well, it's like 10 lbs of shit in a 5 lb bag...

Thanks guys.

Does anyone know anything about the Bosal uppipe? http://www.daddysscp.com/dcart4/cata...pipe-p-49.html I was looking into getting the STi pipe as Stacy said and I came across this. The stealth factor seems nice, plus it comes with gaskets. If I understand correctly Bosal has a pretty good rep. I'd just be interested to know if it holds up well.

Thanks again.

Bosal makes nice parts. I got my Helix pipe for about $40 less though. If you look around you can usually find STi pipes for around $60-$80 on ebay.
