You ned to take the heatshield off at the turbo/downpipe connection. Remove the EGT probe from the pipe and you should be able to take the pipe out from the bottom. That heat shield sucks too, it's got like 11 bolts.

My car is well, it's like 10 lbs of shit in a 5 lb bag...

Do you know you have to unbolt the engine mount and jack the engine up a little bit?

If the cars on a lift, I'm not seeing how you're going to jack the engine up.

Since you have all of the exhaust manifolds off, try getting it from the bottom. You have to jack the engine up some to get the pipe out from the top, because most people don't take the whole manifold assembly off.

Here's an faq with all of the heatshield bolts that you'll have to deal with.

Make sure you take the egt sensor off; it'll make things much easier. Then remove the part of the exhaust manifold that mates to uppipe. You should be able to pull it out from the bottom. That's what I did, but again, you'll have to take the egt sensor off to do it. This way you won't have to jack the engine up. And about the 2 last nuts, the reason why you can't get to them is because the downpipe is in the way. That's why... I'm sorry man, but... you have to take the downpipe off too. But at least you have a lift!

I used a lift to do mine and to jack the engine up while on the lift I used a transmission jack suport thing, I can't remember the proper name for it?
Basicaly a long stand that you can twist a handle to raise or lower the height of it.

If you are talking about the last two nuts on the top of the uppipe, then yes, you HAVE to take off the downpipe because it's directly above it. There is absolutely no way to install an uppipe without taking the downpipe off. After you take off the downpipe you'll see the last two nuts, and you can unscrew them with the help of an extension. Afterwards, find the egt sensor on the side of the uppipe and take that off. Then unscrew all the nuts+bolts on the part of the exhaust manifold that mates to the uppipe, and remove that. Once you have done this, you should be able to pull the uppipe out from the bottom, WITHOUT jacking up the engine or anything.
