well weather the Type R is turbo or not.. the fastest all motor Type R is one tenth of a second faster than the fastest turbo Type R so N/A can be better than a boosted one.... just sumthing to think about just because there is no turbo those engines can be be built up to shift at like 9,000 RPM's..

As much respect i have for the type R, I still say your chances are good of beating him depending the type of mods he has on it.

Yeah it shouldn't be a problem but they are a capable car. Depending on his mods and your and his driving abilities, you should have no problem.

by friend at work finished his install, jackson supercharger, water injection, 8psi pulley, and a new aftermarket clutch to replace the stocker he fried on the test drive, still beat him! although he was reeling me in scary fast at the big end of the track! I gotta give him props for that build-up though, quite a brawler on a road course where the type-R really shows its heritage! my advice, run the quarter mile where the awd advantage will help the most.

Is this a true JDM type-r? or the Usdm spec.... and is it a newer model? because if it was the new type r (here its the RSX), those put out 220 at the crank, and there are plenty of upgrades for them to go a lot faster, Greddy has a 18g (i think) turbo kit for one, jackson has the supercharger, vortech has a kit too I think... they're not bad cars.

The USspec RSX -S puts out 200hp. There is alot of aftermarket support for any honda/acura and they have alot of potential, but there is alot more than the wrx that needs to be done to get them really fast. You can't really beat a factory turbo car because they were engineered to have turbos. Nice kill by the way.

Driver error on your part, or he's a very good driver, but I find it hard to believe that he would beat you by 2-3 cars unless you launched bad. On the other hand, if it was from a roll he would take you no problem. The stock Type-R usually runs a high 14 low 15 stock but I've seen slips in the mid 14s for a stock one. The WRX on the other hand should easily be in the mid to low 14s (provided you get a good launch) and I wouldn't doubt that driven correctly a high 13 would be possible. Stock for stock, you should win but there are so many variables that anything is possible. Plus, unless you know the guy well, he may not have been stock. They have some pretty agressive chips for those things. I would imagine if he was chipped he should win for sure.

Check out this video. It's a Type-r racing a celica gts from a roll. The Celica has i/e and power fc (un-tuned)and the type-r has i/e/h/hondata. There's a couple of races between them and then a race from a roll with the type-r vs. a wrx with Down Pipe, Up Pipe, Intake, 3'' Exhaust, BOV, and a Boost Controller. The Type-r and Celica are a pretty even match in any competition and either one stock will take a stock wrx from a roll. But once the wrx gets a few mods it's gone.

My boss has a Honduh S2000. THe originla one with the 2.0L not the updated one with the 2.2L

It is funny because he asks me how much HP my Scooby has everytime someone talks about how fast it is (my coworkers find it amazing that a Subaru is so quick).

I thinkl my boss thinks since he has 13 more hp than me he could take me. I'd love to race him and show him some Wagon tail! (yes I know top end he'll kill me) Those things have no low end torque and are slugs off the line.

Yeah the s2000, esspecially the older ones, are very hard to drive correctly. You would have no problem taking one in the quarter.
