You mean a GSR?? There are very few true Type-Rs in the US. Anyway even if your car was stock, I wouldn't be to worried about him.

they only sold 2000, I believe. Thats a limited quantity and seeing as how they've been around for 4+ years, I would imagne there are even fewer left.

They started in 1998 and stopped in 2001 or around there.

A friend from work has a Type-R and a stock 2002 WRX, the rex is clearly faster. I have still whooped him after he installed a S-AFC, header, full exhaust and intake. he is now bolting on a jackson supercharger kit. I should still be able to hand him his a$$ in a race!

I wouldn't underestimate them so much fellas. The type-R Integra had a high output motor much like the S2000. It peaked at very high rpm. It is more a track car than anything else. Put a turbo or Supercharger on it for low end and it will fly.

I think they are pretty cool cars and decent power but with his car putting down 230 whp I don't think it has a chance.

well a kid up at the local hot spot has a turbo type R.. At first i thought he was talking bs.. but when he pop his hood there was a turbo.. he must of done quite a bit of motor work.. considering a type R motor runs pretty high compression.. he is running 8psi.. never got a chance to race him though..
