Whut do you guys think about the TWM short throw? They state that the throw is reduced by 40% and lowers the stick by 2 inches. Comes with "tools", stepped bushings, and machined shoulder bolts. The Price on the official site is $129.49, $218.49 with a weighted shift knob. Just wanted some opinions.
I have a twm short throw shifter and it cost me 119.99... it does reduce the throw significantly and the knob height defly by two inches. ITs sweet and i reccomend it
The thing with TWM I don't like is the whole two inches lower part, seems too low... the lower the shift knob the harder you have to throw. I guess most people don't find that too annoying considering how people tend to viciously throw their knobs around. ANYWAY, where'd you get it for $119? Whut did it come with?
Try www.scoobytuner.com It was just the shift lever though, nothing else unless yoou count two white decals haha. I like it alot though, but lemme warn you the short shifter process in this car is a ##### and a half...Getting the old lever out is a breeze but you better have some really strong dude or a beast of a hammer to get the new one in.
I just placed the TWM short throw in my car yesterday, and man the shifter throw is definitely shortened. It works great, shift wise its a pretty smooth throw. But when you place the short throw in the factory shifter had a plastic ball end where the twm has a complete aluminium frame so i find the vibration in the stick is alittle bit more than the factory. Also let me note that the instructions will state a "strong blow from your palm will be needed to place the shifter into place" and man ill tell you they aint kidding. I used a soft faced mallet cause my palm was bruised from trying so much. That an I shaved very little off the base of the ball diameter to help it sit in. overall I rate it a 4 outta 5, because vibration. good luck wit your choose.
Imprezzive, man i totally agree with you on the "strong blow with the face of your palm". I cant even count how many times i hit my head on the roof of my car pushin that thing into the socket. Not to mention how many times i hit the horn and looked like an idiot. But i would say that the mallet is the best way to go with that thing. It is defly wortht he time thou. Twm short throw is a good buy too.
Sounds good, i'll surly take your opinions into concideration. The only thing worrying me was the throw force iself, but it doesn't sound too bad. Thanx for the info. !Thumbs Up
