Here is my MPG for the last two tanks before and after the unichip...

Before:

18.5 mpg

17.9 mpg

After Unichip & ECU reset:

1st Tank - 19.2 mpg

2nd Tank - 21.6 mpg

My driving style did not really change afterwards, if anything my foot may have gotten heavier ...

Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this! Now I know for sure what I want to do when I get my WRX. I would not be able to get this kit if it killed mpg.

To know that it could actually help, makes me feel very good. So far I have not heard any downsides to TuboXs kit, that’s great!

Hey Mike,

Have you had any issues when bringing the car in for service from the dealer? Just curious, I think that is my BIGGEST concern with getting the chip.

Not yet, and don't plan on there ever being any trouble. It only takes 15 minutes to remove the Unichip w/harness from the factory ECU. Leaves no trace of it being there.

Did you buy the whole stage 1 kit or just the ECU upgrade? Doesnt the ECU leave a little hump in the carpet since it is a piggyback?

I got the whole stage 1 kit. It moves the passenger side carpet floor about 1 inch closer to the passenger seat. You can see the whole install and passenger carpet after install in the mod section of this site.
