I just intsalled my RFL bov on my 05 WRX and it sounds awesome, def loud. I only used one washer and do not have any problems....so far. Thanks to anyone who gave advice.

sorry to bring back an old thread but i just installed the rfl on my gf wrx and found that no washers sounds the best... car runs just fine too!! is this bad??

The amount of washers won't change the sound. You really need at least 2 to prevent it from opening too early.

ok.. last night i removed the intake silencer which sounds better not to mention when the turbo begins to spool it climbs to full boost much faster!! but i was driving it the bov was very inconsistent with the way it blew off. sometimes it would be loud and drawn out, other times it would barely make a sound... this was all at full boost too.

i tapped into the same vacuum source that the stock bov was tapped into. i noticed if i hold the throttle down in the same spot for a few seconds it then blows off properly but if i quickly shift before boost has stabilized, little if no sound even when boost is high. one time i did here flutter which may have compressor surge.. hopefully not
