turbo and internals

I am finally at the point where i can get a turbo. After talkin to many people and hours on the forums and websites is that if i get one of the ihi turbos i should be fine without having to touch any of the internals. I am leaning towards the vf34. Any other turbo that i would purchase such as an HKS would mean that i would have to replace the internals. So my questions comes down to this, do i go with the vf34 or a larger turbo that would put down more whp? And also, what would be the whp point where you need to replace internals?.

don't forget to consider spool time. The vf34 gets to full spool pretty quick which isn't reflected in peak numbers but you'll certainly feel it.

I have a friend who is running a PE1820 pushing 300whp+ with no mods to his internals and has been doing so for over a year now and he goes to the strip alot. I'd personally stick with the VF34.

You are most likely going to have to replace your transmision before your internals. Some people say that the tranny will hold like 340whp max and thats saying you dont beat the you know what out of it. The internals I don't know much about.

I saw that you had a fmic so the safest way to go would be a vf22 and your internals and tranny should be fine. But if your lookin for biger goodluck you have a bit of work, and I would say an 18g.

I didnt completly read im new to posting.... You will be fine with a vf34 it wont hurt nethin unless you drive as hard as you can 24/7 . The only problem you may have is that it might be a little to small for your fmic im not posotive but thats why I said vf22

if i was you i would consider the fp 18g or the vf22 because i ran both with no problems before i upgraded my internals

i would go with the PE1818. faster spool than the VF22 and if im not mistakin, it flows about the same.

STI TMIC is pretty small - lack of cooling
Boost controller - very bad idea

Probably improperly tuned, which led to the broken rods. Transmission breakage is from abuse.
