which turbo to get. Ball Bearing vs. Journal Bearing

im dropping my car off at the end of month to finally do the hybrid build( sti block, wrx heads) and trying to figure out which turbo to go with. the mods of the new build with current mods that i already have are:
cobb stage 2 street tune
cobb cai
perrin turbo inlet tub
sti top mount
maf inlet hose
catless brand x down pipe
invidia up pipe
heads redone with all brian crower components
perrin light weight pulley
act light weight flywheel
clutch masters fx300
grimmspeed Electronic Boost Control
grimmspeed Phenolic Spacers
DeatschWerks 750cc
sti block was rebuilt with stock rods/crank and je pistons
my power goal is 400-450 hp
im trying to figure what turbo would be the best. im going with a blouch brand turbo
my tuner said go with the 20g xtr, but im wondering if thats the best choice. and of course the million dollar question, what do i pick? ball bearing or journal bearing?
thanks for any info or help.
also please i dont need any off topic comments,or comments saying i need this or shouldn't of done this just looking for some advice on my turbo issue only
thanks

For your goal, an 18G-XTR will work fine. A 20G-XTR will take you above what you stated. Both turbos are ball bearing. The XTs (do they still make them?) are journal bearing. If you want to spend the extra money, by all means go ahead and get the XTR.

I highly suggest you not use Brian Crower parts if you care for the health of your engine.

I chose the 20G-XT for my car and ended up with 365 whp (see my profile for current mod list).

At my time of purchase, I was advised that the price difference between the XT and XTR didn't really justify the difference in performance for a daily driver. Yes, ball bearing turbos spool faster than journal bearing turbos, but there are a bunch of other factors that will have a similar or greater impact on the amount of turbo lag you experience. I guess what it comes down to is how important is that hundred bucks to you?
