I don't know all that much, but I would think the 34 would be better. It is a ball bearing unit which means faster spool up.

Without a doubt the VF34. It is the turbo off of the Japanese STi, which uses the 2.0L motor and is a direct bolt-on to the WRX, with all supporting mods of course. It will spool up faster than stock and is a ball bearing turbo.

If you're gonna stay with the IHI models, definitely the vf34. Depending on your cash flow & where you want your power, I HIGHLY recommend the Monster Port vf34 from deadboltspeed.com. Mine was $750 + $150 for the port job but I think they may have gone up a little. To quote his website, benefits include "improved spool-up, improved throttle response, quicker accereration, quicker rise to peak torque and enhanced boost capability." I have a 4eat & needed more low end punch & it was just what the Dr ordered. Sounds cool as a bonus!

If you are deciding between the vf30 and the vf30 the vf34 is the way to go. The vf34 and vf30 Have nearly identical topend , but the vf34 spoolsup a couple hundred rpm quicker. It is all driver prefrence and the money tou have.

I am going to get a stage 4 package for $3,800 that has avf30, im only 16 and dont have much money.

I would say go with the vf34

The VF 30 and 34 are the same turbos. But the 34 has a better bearing setup, so it spools faster. The 30 is good but the 34 is better.
