That'd be cool if the Sun did that, because I do believe they sponsor a drag car because I think I've seen it at one of the shows. But then ofcourse Foxwoods would have to build one too...

Yeah, we should go talk to the Cheif, lol.

Nose Nuggets, is LimeRock a public track?

I feel like buying some land and paving it and making my own 1/4mile track. Charge some good $$$ to drag, and make some money. But, Im sure that wouldnt happen in this lifetime. It'd be sweet though.

errr... ive never heard of a "public" race track before.

you can drive/race lime rock if you want, but thats if you have the dough to pay for all the personel you will need.

legaly speaking, you need flaggers for "dangerous" corners, as well as an ambulance crew and who ever else the lime rock staff feels you need. if its an un sanctiond event they will more then likly require you to have some sort of profesionals on staff.

now, skib barber does BUKU events at lime rock, thats where we (ahem, they) are based. besides, you would have a hell of a lot more fun racing a open wheel formula class race car around a circut then your wrx, and with a $3200 price tag for 3 days of fun, its probbably drasticly less then the track rental fee ALONE for ONE day if you wanted it for your self. i think its like 12K to rent Laguna Seca for the day with no staff.

if you wana buy land and setup your own track you need to consider the same things as you would renting a track for the day. you cant just buy a square mile of earth and pave a mile of it and say RACE AWAY! you need equipment to pave, lights, safty walls, safty personel, evacuation plans, natural disaster plans the list goes oooooon and oooooooooon

but its nice to think about.....

seriously though, whats the fasination with 1/4 mile? anyone can go fast in a straigh line. there isent even that much skill envolved in comparison to racing a circuit. "Aww crap my launch time was off by a tenth of a second" as aposed to "aw man i had a hic-up in turn 4 and my LAP time is off by a three tenths of a second"

Thanks Ian.

Yeah that would be sweet if they put one in Plainfield... Im || this close to Plainfield.

And Ian, I double clutch now all the time for a few certain gears, likes getting into first, it goes in nice a smooth if you double. And also on the highway or with a highspeed and I want to downshift to 4th or 3rd, its alittle smoother on the shift, and it doesnt take any more time, so i do it.
