Yup. You can even up the boost a bit if you want.

TMICs can be supportive of BIG power.. Depending on how big you go.. I have a PERRIN TMIC and a Garrett GT35R running 21psi and I put down 425awhp with it.. So depending on which one you go with you should be fine..

02 WRX.. "It's fun when it runs.. Problem is that it hardly ever does..."

The core size and amount of piping are the big ones. Well, besides the obvious design differences.

My car is well, it's like 10 lbs of shit in a 5 lb bag...

Like Stacy mentioned about the piping and core size, can make a difference in spooltime/throttle responce.A TMIC maybe has about 1-1.5 ft of piping from the turbo outlet to the I.C. where a FMIC can have almost 6ft.When you are not in boost and go into boost the I.C. system (core and piping) will have to be pressurized first before the cylinders will start to get pressurized. This is one way 100% atmospheric BOV's really decrease performance on the fact that the stock divertor/recirculating valve plumbs that pressure back into the system and keeping the I.C. system pressurized to minimize lag.On the stock TMIC its pretty easy to get that re-pressurized but on a FMIC system, depending on the turbo, you will have to rebuild that pressure up again.Alot of this also is picking a system that is designed properly for your needs. The core size and the pipe size make the difference.I.C. piping is sized just like exhaust pipes. You match it to the CFM going in and size it to keep maximum velocity with the least amount of resistance. To small and it will choke the turbo,to big and it will cause unnecessary lag.The core type, size and configuration make a difference as well. http://www.are.com.au/techtalk/intecoolersMR.htm

you can also get an aluminum Hood Scope Diverter.....it sends half the air to the front of the intercooler making it cool more efficently. You can get one off of E-bay for like $25. I'm not trying to advertise for him but it a great product for the money. I put one on mine 04 and noticed it's cooler when I get done with a nice long hard run.

FP 16G with a HyperFlow TMIC running 19 psi with out problems. If you are a drag racer the FMIC is better than a TMIC, it has been tested and proven.
