Td05h-16g?

Hi new suby owner, recently aquired a modded 02 WRX and i have a cobb acessport stage 2 tune, its got full exhaust, up-pipe-downpipe, K&N. Well im wanting to install a TD05H-16 on there and use the cobb map for the FP-16, imma have my injectors modified to 565cc by witchhunter, as per cobb, it says using sti TMIN but i have wrx TMIN, the wrx one is bigger so i guess better airflow? Also i want something like a boost limiter, somewhere where i can run to work and back every and if i got WOT i wouldn't be making 330 crank hp, more like 230. Then when i wanted to have some fun i could flip a switch or something and unleash the power. Is there anyway to do that? sorry im a noob

If the map says to use an sti tmic or equivalent then that is what you should use. Your best bet if you want to have a more conservative tune and a more ballsy tune, would be to get a tuner to pro-tune your car with the 16g and make those 2 different maps for you so you can switch back and forth as pleased. A pro-tuned map will typically give you a better tune rather than using the a/p ots(off the shelf) maps.

I can't find any tuning shops around tulsa, OK. I guess i'll just have to stick with the cobb tune, unless there is any other way to get a good tune without going to a tuning shop

Try Clark Turner - Tuning Specialist He makes custom mail maps for people. All he needs is a few data logs of your car with the mods and he'll e-mail you a map to put on your accessport.

Not exactly...the stock OTS AP maps are specific. If you can not run the right parts for the map....then don't run it at all. It's not made for customization.

PS. If you want customization to use what parts are readily available to u. Seek a tuner.

big 16g td05 VS IHI VF39/43 post #8. I was trying to find info on the actual vendor sites or something, but this is what I have found so far. Either get the FP16G (which Im not sure its stil made) or get the Blouch 16G and get a tune for it.

I don't think anyone's amswered this yet...The maps would be stored on your Cobb AccessPort. With that then you can retune it whenever you want within minutes....Many tuners work with the Accessport and can create maps for it...as for how much or where's your closest tuner, I'm the wrong guy to ask, I'm just using the OTS maps for now...

witchunter mods to 800cc not 525. there are a few map switchers u could get, cobb accessport, turboxs utec, boost controller(i dont like these). Where did u see the WRX TMIC is bigger than STI's? and dont forget upgraded fuel pump with those injectors. and throw a turbo inlet on, hear the spool a lot louder and an extra few horses to feel lol

If you're interested in making good power after you find a reputable tuner, you can have the tuner tune a conservative map on 91/93 oct and a more aggressive map on e85 fuel (full time). that's exactly how I had my wrx and loved the e85! You can jus flash the Cobb between the two maps on the fly, but don't deviate mods from the Cobb ots maps - they are specific.
