TBE opinion

I want a TBE and don't want to spend 600-1500 dollars on it. I was looking at this one on ebay. Could anyone give me an opinion on it? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ayphotohosting

Go to my profile and look at the picture showing my Helix Bellmouth D/P. The quality is so much different. I would save and do the right mods to your car. Gruppe-s.com runs great deals and usually includes shipping. I have not researched price since I ordered mine back in March, but I got my up and down for less than $400 shipped and it came with all the gaskets and a CEL fix.

Sorry, I also meant to tell you that you will get a big change in your car with just the up and down alone. You don't have to get the full exhaust to feel the difference the up/down combo makes. You will need to get the cat-back in time, but doing it before you do the up and down really doesn't get you any more HP. I did the Cat-back then the up/down and I wish I would have done it vise versa. The up and down are one of the most significant HP increases. Probably the single most without tuning.

They should mount up. I did the inverse, a 60mm cat back on the stock down and it mounted right up, no problems.

Ok.. Problem I see with the pics is that the set up looks like it's for an external wastegated system....
IF you wanna go that route then you better be spending alot more cash..
As for that system looks nice..... But looks can be deceiving...
You are better off getting a good quality one fro a little more.. Helix is not that expensive and very high quality. I can also think of Invidia ore even Perrin.
Just my .02

My advice for you would be try to find something used.

I too did not want to spend 600-1500$ on a complete exhaust for my car. I was focused on one brand( TurboXS) and I hunted on ebay and forums till I found it. It only took me about a month till I found a setup off ebay.

It was a TurboXS TBE with a TurboXS flexible up-pipe. for 500$ This exhaust was in excellent used condition all I needed to buy was new gaskets. Basically I saved half the money I would have spent on new. I am using that toward other mods on my car.

Hope this gives you another option.

Regards,
Dustin
