tbe or dp and up

i have already had an axel back installed and was wondering if it is even worth it to get a tbe or if i should just get a dp and up. I have read that with the axel back and dp and up i can make about 150 to 160 horsepower. The problem is that the axel back was custom and i will have to buy a whole tbe but im a little short on money. Do you think i can get away with just the dp and up?

yes. Although I have no idea what HP figures you are talking about. The whole thing will gain you maybe 30 whp.

The stock catback isn't a restriction until you start loading stage 2+ maps. That said, most people do the CBE at the same time so that the whole system is the same size pipe (3").

I think you should just get DP and UP. If your axleback is custom, you may have to custom fit the DP to the axleback.

Which really just means you need a custom pipe that goes from your DP to your axleback. I've never seen those sold anywhere, but getting one made should be cheap.

You guys and your hp figures.

Simply adding an exhaust is not going to get you those numbers, tuning is what gets it. Sure, you'll see gains with the exhaust, but it's not as extreme as that.

Mosc is right, you might see 30.

My car is well, it's like 10 lbs of shit in a 5 lb bag...

sry i meant get you to 250 or 260 horsepower not gain 150 to 160. So what you all are saying is that i can just get the dp and up and then upgrade the cat back when im ready to start tuning. My friend an make a custom fitting for the stock cat, so later on i can upgrade to 3" from the dp back.

Yes you could do that and be fine. The only problem I see is installing the cat with an aftermarket downpipe. Unless, you're going to cut the factory pipe after the dp and do it that way.

my friend can make me a custom fitting from the dp to the stock cat. He did it for my headers on my honda and they have the same flanges.
