Question Tanabe exhaust?

Hey guys I just wanna get an idea of the quality level of Tanabe's Hyper Medallion exhaust.

I want to get the TXS turbo-back, but I could get a really good deal on the Hyper Medallion.

Since this is a brand new car, I'll only be putting the best quality stuff on it, so I'm trying to find out what's going to give the best power gains, while still keeping a nice aesthetic level.

If any of you guys have had experience with this brand of exhaust please let me know, I need the info.

Thanks alot!

I have a Tanabe on my Celica. It is great quality and so far there are no problems. I have the Super Racing Medalion but I'm sure the good quality is present in all Tanabe models. I would go with the TurboXS turbo-back instead though.

My friend had the Tanabe Racing Medallion on his Integra GSR and it sounded horrible, unless of course you like the sound of a jet flying by you just over your head. Not sure how well it will sound with an Impreza. As far as performance, it was an excellent setup.

That is just the characteristics of small inline 4 engines. They're never going to have the rumble like a boxer engine! I had a friend that had a Magnaflow muffler (same as turboxs uses) on his prelude and it sounded the same way as any other exhaust on the inline fours. The tanabe WILL NOT sound that way on a WRX.

Not all of them sound like that, I have GReddy EVO exhaust on my Integra and it has a really nice low rumble. Nothing as loud or obnoxious as a V8 rumble, but it doesn't sound like a weed eater either.

My friend had a Tanabe on his Integra LS and it was very deep. Not ricey or raspy at all. I have heard that the GReddy EVO is alot more subtle and deep. My tanabe exhaust is also very deep. Even at 8300 RPM it isn't raspy at all. In the higher RPMs it does sound more like a street bike rapping up. But that's because of the motorcycle like high revs. Also it doesn't help that the Celica GTS engine was built by Yamaha.

I have a Turbo XS turboback but a Blitz Nur-Spec muffler section. No cats. It sounds mean has hell, but is loud. I think my neighbors are starting to hate me.... Oh, and it is somewhat raspy, but not weedwacker raspy, more like Grand Touring car raspy.

i had that exhaust on my civic and it didn't sound raspy, the nice thing is it came with a silencer. i have the espelir cat back on my wrx plus up and down pipes sounds awsome without silencer and quiet with it, my friends say it sounds like a jet plane if i get on it with the silencer in, i had my friend drive my car and it really does sound like a jet!

I know two people with the Tanabe exhaust on their Subarus. One is a 2.5 RS and the other is a WRX, both sound good and both are happy with their choice. Question is, will you be? 'Nuf said.
