Just wait till all auto manufacturers start using the SAE HP testing method. Although many of the new cars do not have to retest since they all have engines/drivetrains carried over from previous years; ALL manufacturers will be using the new SAE method by 2007.

I would bet that if the current EJ20 (not 06+ wrx's) were tested with this, actully even the newer ones, we would see less HP ratings from Subaru. Check this link out to read up on it... http://www.detnews.com/2005/autosins...A01-283759.htm

This is why toyota has dropped its numbers on its lineup and so has Honda.

Ya it really is, there are a lot more on it if you are interested... just google it.

Anyhow, it will be great when all cars are subject to standardized testing, so when people say well this car makes this much we will know how to compare them that much better to other cars.

You know many of the Japanese cars were the ones with the major differences. The 06' ZO6 was the first to use the new method. GM must be pretty conservative with a lot of there HP ratings cause of all the cars mentioned w/ re-released HP numbers, many of the GM lineup actually gained HP with the same test that showed losses for Toyota, Honda...etc
