Stock exhaust

Is there anyway to get the stock exhaust louder? I love my 05 exhaust but I would love to get it to give me the boxer rumble if possible without changing the exhaust.

sounds like, getting the downpipe answers your question.

it would make it louder, and you can keep your stock exhaust

Gutting it wont give the wastegate room to breathe nor will it give the DP a larger diameter. Just get a new one. I would suggest the Turbo-xs if you have a lot of cash, or the Helix if not.

the original poster mentioned gutting it. Gutting it will get you some gains, those two cats are very restrictive. It won't give you as much as getting a bigger DP though.

if he doesn't want to buy one, you can gut the cats out of the stock pipe. That will give you some gains. Or buy a new one. I would personally save myself the time and headache and just do it the right way and buy a new one, but to each his own

Turbo XS stealth back replaces everything with 3in piping except for the muffler which most of you sound is made from. Ive heard clips of it and it sounds stock at idle and low rpms but screams when you get on it.

If you are looking for a JUST a downpipe I wouldn't suggest a TXS downpipe. You would also have to buy the adapter pipe to get it to mate with the stock cat-back. Plus, TXS is VERY expensive, not to say its not well made, but I don't think the size difference from a TXS downpipe to a Helix downpipe is going to matter much until you are reaching very high horsepower numbers.

My suggestion is to get a used Helix downpipe(about $200) and run it to your stock cat-back. It will increase your HP and still not make your car super loud.

turbo xs stealth back you can get for about 650 and it bolts up to your stock axle back just fine but if you looking for just a downpipe then perrin, helix, invidia ect...........will do
