Sti intercooler gains?

im looking into buying a sti intercooler to upgrade the stock unit that i have. ive got a 05 wrx just so there is no confusion. just curious what the gains would be such as less lag on the turbo and cooler intake temps. is it worth buying . i also have a spt intake and cat-back. tell me if this going to do anything.

it won't change a thing like both of the other mods you did

The two easiest to do power mods are Engine Management and a Downpipe. If you want more power, I'd recommend either or both of those.

ive heard that it will give me better spool up on the turbo because of the y pipe and cooler intake temps in the summer months. So is that not true?

I cant see how it would make you turbo spool faster, but it will lower you intake temps in the summer but hot enough that you'll notice much of a difference

Gains from the stock to STi intercooler are minimal. Unless you're getting the thing for free or really cheap, it's not worth it. Save up and get a real TMIC upgrade if that's the path you're looking at.
