Sti Horsepower
i have an 03 completely stock wrx i just bought. i wanted to get it to around 300hp. is it possble to do it without upgrading the turbo. if so ### parts u suggest.

No the turbo wont flow enough for 300 hp, only about 410 CFM max which is about 270 wheel horse power.

wrxman420 04-23-2007 10:54 PM

You won't be able to do that with a stock wrx turbo, but you could throw on a stock sti turbo (vf39) for cheap. That can get you to around 300 hp.

all of us with stock wrxs wanna get 300 lol i wanna to but i cant yet so im just gunna up mu boost 18 19 and get a tune see were that puts me

Black05WRX 04-24-2007 02:32 PM

No were near close enough, lets put it that way, shoot for about 240.

Im confused... Your topic says "STi horsepower" but you said you have a WRX. Which one do you have? This makes a difference in the answer.

i think he is shooting for 300 hp like the sti...but doesnt understand that an sti is 300 crank not 300whp. if you want 300 whp get up/down pipe, injectors, fuel pump, vf39 and a tune and you should be close to 300 but most likely alittle under.

You mean like this?

I love bragging :)

WRXKidid775 04-24-2007 10:08 PM

###. haha did you get retuned again?

300 to the crank is easy on the stock turbo. 300 to the wheels isnt happenin.

Black05WRX 04-25-2007 12:48 AM

thats what I have been saying......

JH 03WRX 04-25-2007 09:42 PM

to the crank. and i have an wrx. so best bet is to start savin for a turbo

WRXKidid775 04-25-2007 10:23 PM

300 to the crank is cakesauce on the stock turbo.

300 to the wheels is a horse of a differnt i feel ### for typing that.

Black05WRX 04-26-2007 12:29 AM

You guys all think that the stock turbo sucks, its just like a 14b off a 1st Gen DSM, these turbos are even cabable of 12's but not without alot of tunning.
